Lunar Eclipse Trek

July 27, 2018

A total lunar eclipse occurs at the beginning of Tanzania’s dry season in 2018. This blood moon will be the last lunar eclipse to envelop all of Africa for nearly two decades. The next rises in 2036.

At 13,000 feet and with virtually zero light pollution, Kilimanjaro’s Karanga camp may provide one of the greatest opportunities to see the blood moon.

Trekkers can catch the view on our Western Approach trek departing July 21, 2018 or by requesting a custom departure.
